Fall Party 2014 will be held on November 2nd from 1:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the corner of Palo Pinto and Delmar (same location as last year). Enjoy the food, drink and music. We are planning kids activities so bring the whole family. Money raised during the event will support neighborhood projects at Robert E. Lee Elementary, tree plantings, and BACD 10th Anniversary. There will be some past Fall Party favorites such as the Chili Cook Off, the silent auction, Artisans of the Addition, and the wine cork pull. In addition to the old favorites, we will also have some new ones like the Dip Off and Booze Off.
Chili Cook Off
Enter your chili, and try to take home the pigs for this year. We’ll provide sterno and all the fixin’s. You just bring your chili, voting jar, and anything special you need to blow your neighbors away. Your neighbors vote with dollars to raise money for the ‘hood! Contact: Marla at MLRHG@yahoo.com
Dip Off
Whip up your world famous dip – whether it’s salsa, green goddess or queso, bring it! There is no electricity, available so if your dip needs to stay warm, plan ahead to bring sterno. You need to bring chips, crackers, or whatever to dip plus your voting jar. Winners will be decided by number of dollars in the vote jars. Contact: Teri at terilharper@gmail.com
Brew Off
Bring a home brew, infused spirit, or white lightening. You bring the voting jar and any mixers needed. We vote with dollars! Contact: Blane at Blane@balch.com
Artisans of BACD
If you are an artisan, come showcase your talent, skills, or artistry! Last year we had photographers, gardeners, jewelry makers, bakers, and more. Have other items you’ve created that you’d like to show off? The planning committee would love to showcase your talents. Like last year, items featured are for show only and may be featured in the silent auction to help raise money for neighborhood projects. Contact: Harley at harley@cozewith.com
Silent Auction
The BACD Silent Auction is nothing to be quiet about. Making a donation is a great way to advertise a business PLUS help with fundraising to support neighborhood projects. The silent auction is our number one fund raising event of the year. So how can you help?
Solicit gift cards, gift certificates and product from local businesses. If you own or work for a local business, advertise your business by making a donation, Donate gift cards, gift certificates and new items that are in your possession. Plan to bid early and often on silent auction items at Fall Party. Businesses already on board for Fall Party 2014 are celebrated in the newsletter, next time you visit them, offer a big “Thanks”.
