Fall Party Coming This Weekend!

FPBanner2015Fall Party 2015 will be held on November 8th from 1:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the corner of Palo Pinto and Delmar (same location as last year). Enjoy the food, drink and music. We are planning kids activities so bring the whole family. Money raised during the event will support neighborhood projects at Robert E. Lee Elementary and BACD tree plantings. There will be some past Fall Party favorites such as the BACD Bingo, Chili Cook Off, the silent auction and the wine cork pull.

Fall Party Fundraising Event
Fall Party is not only a heck of a good time in the neighborhood, it is our annual fund raiser.  We raise money for a variety of projects, from beautification projects in our neighborhood to efforts to support our local schools.  This year, our Fall Party funds will go toward sponsoring the Lee Elementary Science Garden.  The garden costs $2,500 per year to maintain, so that is our fund raising goal this year.  The funds go toward supplies, seeds, teaching tools, new beds, etc.  The garden includes outdoor class space, and it produces food that the kids eat and sell to the Lee community.   So, when you come to Fall Party this year, bring your $$ and help us support our local schools!  To donate, you can drop your donation in one of the donation jars at the event, “vote with your dollars” in contests like the Chili Cook-off, participate in the Silent Auction or Wine Pull or go directly to www.woodrowfoundation.org.

Chili Cook Off
Enter your chili, and try to take home the pigs for this year. We’ll provide sterno and all the fixin’s. You just bring your chili, voting jar, and anything special you need to blow your neighbors away. Your neighbors vote with dollars to raise money for the ‘hood! Contact: Marla at MLRHG@yahoo.com

Silent Auction
Silent Auction 2015 will not disappoint. Local businesses and neighbors donate giftcards or items and a creative team groups them into irresistible baskets. Be prepared to outbid your neighbors on fabulous baskets with themes such as “RedNeck”, “Muchos Tacos”, “Date Night”, “The Morning After”, “Burger’s Galore”…… And the list goes on.
This year we plan to feature “dinner with your neighbors” auction items. The idea being that anyone can donate a dinner for 4 hoping to host another neighborhood couple for a home cooked meal.
So, if you have a service you want to donate, want to host a “dinner for 4”, or know a local business that will support the auction contact Sara Wick for more information. Proceeds from the auction will be used to sponsor the Science Garden at Robert E. Lee Elementary.
Your generosity in soliciting items as well as bidding on them is much appreciated.  Sara Wick can be contacted at sarawick2001@yahoo.com.
